Christian Education

The mission of the Christian Education Ministry of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church is to seek to provide varied opportunities in Christian Education to believers.  We further seek to offer adequate training opportunities to those who are given the task of educating believers.  These objectives are achieved via a strong, collaborative effort of the various teaching arms of this ministry.

The Christian Education Ministry is comprised of a consortium of Lead Servants and representatives of the formal teaching entities of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. It provides oversight to all educational programs and activities of the church.  The Christian Education Ministry also provides training for teachers and workers via workshops, seminars and institutes in addition to setting guidelines for teacher recruitment, accountability and personnel changes.

SCHOOL OF MINISTRY

The vision of the School of Ministry is to train men and women of God for the Gospel ministry and enrich and equip lay-servants to become more knowledgeable and profitable in their Christian service.

With the application of scripture to all aspects of our lives as its goal, the School of Ministry seeks to weave excellent academic instruction with personal spiritual growth and opportunities for hands-on-ministry.

The School of Ministry is committed to supplying its students with nothing less than the integration of solid Biblical, historical, theological, and practical training as they seek to fulfill God’s will and calling for their lives.

 Statement of Purpose

SUNDAY SCHOOL

The Mission of the St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church is to provide a structured framework for preparing Christians for ministry, outreach, evangelism and assimilation, through sound Biblical teaching to all ages, utilizing appropriate settings and learning environments that are optimally suitable for learning, as dictated by one’s developmental level.

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION

New Member Orientation classes are necessary and required to provide new members with valuable biblical knowledge about being a Christian.  The five classes orient new members to the Church, The Christian faith and Christian Development.  In addition, new members are informed about church ministries and activities that will enhance and enrich their lives as representatives of Christ.  The classes help new members become aware of the benefits and responsibilities of being a Christian.

THE NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION CLASSES ARE PRIMARILY NEEDED TO:

  1. Bring a clear understanding of basic biblical doctrine and principles as they relate to the Christian faith.
  2. Identify particular needs and gifts of new members.
  3. Stimulate and motivate new members to grow spiritually.
  4. Provide new members with basic spiritual knowledge upon which to build and grow.
  5. Provide an initial environment for new members to learn, fellowship and share with other believers.
